Udupi: Union min Pralhad Joshi lays foundation stone for Rathabeedi-Rajangana Suvarna Path project

Udupi, Mar 16: Union minister Pralhad Joshi laid the foundation stone for the Rathabeedi-Rajangana Suvarna Path project, which includes an elevated bridge at the Udupi Sri Krishna Math.

His Holiness Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji, the revered pontiff of Paryaya Sri Puthige Matha, has initiated several developmental projects to enhance convenience for devotees visiting the Sri Krishna Math. Among these, the most significant is the construction of a grand Suvarna Flyover connecting the Geeta Mandir to Rathabeedi. The Bhoomi Pooja for this prestigious project was conducted in the divine presence of the revered Swamijis, with Pralhad Joshi performing the rituals.

During the public gathering that followed, Joshi praised the continuous societal contributions of Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji, emphasizing the impact of the numerous religious and social initiatives undertaken by the Matha across the world. He also lauded the ambitious ‘Koti Geeta Lekhana Yajna’ movement led by the Swamiji to promote the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita globally.

In his address, Sri Sugunendra Theertha Swamiji commended Joshi as an exemplary politician, free from blemish, and appreciated his dedication to public service. The Swamiji expressed his prayers to Sri Krishna Mukhya Prana Devaru for further success in the minister’s endeavors and honored him with a felicitation.

On this auspicious occasion, Joshi and his wife were initiated into the ‘Koti Geeta Lekhana Yajna’ by His Holiness. Additionally, Nirmala Kamath, who has written the Bhagavad Gita 110 times as part of the initiative, presented her 110 books to the Swamiji. Similarly, Shobha Kini, who has completed 85 copies, also offered her writings. The Swamiji blessed both devotees for their dedication by bestowing divine prasadam upon them.

The event witnessed the presence of key dignitaries, including Joshi’s secretary Narayana Gambhir, the Matha’s diwan Nagaraja Acharya, international secretary M Prasanna Acharya, and close aides Ratish Tantri and Santosh Shetty. Mahitosh Acharya, editor of Suguna Mala magazine, was also present.

The event was eloquently hosted by Dr B Gopalacharya. Later in the afternoon, Joshi visited the Sri Krishna Math, offered prayers, and received the divine ‘Bhojana Prasada.
