Mangaluru: MRPL extends CSR support for Wenlock Hospital, Pilikula development

Mangaluru, Mar 29: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) has extended its support for the development of Wenlock Hospital and Pilikula Nisargadhama under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

MP Capt Brijesh Chowta handed over the CSR sanction letter to the respective officials. As part of this initiative, a new surgical ward will be constructed at Wenlock Hospital’s medicine block at a cost of Rs 10 crore, adding 132 new beds to the facility.

Additionally, a state-of-the-art astronomy gallery will be developed at the Pilikula Science Centre at an estimated cost of Rs 5.43 crore.

The event was attended by Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath, additional deputy commissioner Santosh Kumar, Wenlock superintendent Dr Shivaprakash, district health officer Dr Thimmaiah, Pilikula commissioner Arun Kumar Shetty, and other officials. Krishna Hegde GGM HR, Manoj Kumar CGM administration and CSR, Prashanth Baliga GM CSR were also present from MRPL along with M Shyamprasad Kamath managing director.
