Brahmavar, Mar 30: The walls of Hanehalli School in Barkur have been adorned with paintings of great achievers, thanks to the efforts of the 5th batch of trainees from the Koti Chennayya Army Pre-Recruitment Training School.

Before completing their training and leaving, the students of this batch set an example by constructing a bus shelter near the school using their own funds. They also created portraits of national heroes on the school’s compound wall.

Under the artistic skills of amateur painter Abhishek Patil, the images of former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, freedom fighter Bhagat Singh, and warrior Sangolli Rayanna have been painted. Additionally, Ravi Shastri, Maruti Neelappa, and their team built a metal-roofed bus shelter, providing seating arrangements for commuters. They completed cement and plastering work, showcasing their commitment to social service.

"We wanted to leave behind something memorable for our school, so we decided to build a bus shelter," said trainee Ravi Shastri.

The Koti Chennayya Army Pre-Recruitment Training School provides free food, accommodation, and four months of physical training, along with computer education, intellectual training, and sports coaching, for 100 students under government funding. Retired army personnel, including Subedar Janardhan, Havaldar Mahantesh, and Lance Naik Krishnappa, have been offering guidance and encouragement to students for the past five years.
