Nagpur, Mar 30: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale on Sunday reiterated that the organization does not believe in opposing anyone and remains confident that even its critics will one day join its cause.
Reflecting on the RSS’s century-long journey, Hosabale highlighted how the movement has evolved from being ignored and ridiculed to gaining widespread curiosity and acceptance. “As the RSS completes 100 years of service, the moment calls for introspection and a renewed commitment to our mission, rather than mere celebration. It is also an opportunity to honor the stalwarts, saints, and selfless Swayamsevaks and their families who have contributed to this journey,” he stated.

Hosabale’s article, RSS at 100, was shared by Vishwa Samvad Kendra, Bharat, on X to mark the birth anniversary of RSS founder Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar, coinciding with Varsh Pratipada, the first day of the Hindu calendar.
His remarks gain significance as the RSS prepares to mark its centenary year with a series of events, spanning from Vijayadasami Day in 2025 to 2026. The timing also coincides with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the RSS headquarters in Nagpur, where he paid homage to Dr. Hedgewar and the second RSS chief, M.S. Golwalkar.
“While many view societal developments through a political lens, the RSS remains focused on fostering cultural awakening and strengthening a network of like-minded individuals and organizations. In recent years, we have emphasized women’s participation in social transformation and the revival of family values. The celebration of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar’s tri-centenary, which saw over 27 lakh participants in 10,000 events across Bharat, is a testament to our collective efforts in honoring national icons. As we step into our 100th year, we are dedicated to expanding our core mission of nation-building at the grassroots level,” he emphasized.
Hosabale pointed to the rapid expansion of RSS activities, including the addition of 10,000 new Shakhas in the past year through systematic planning and execution. However, he acknowledged that the goal of reaching every village and Basti remains unfinished and requires further dedication. He reaffirmed that the Panch-Parivartan (five-fold transformation program) would continue as the organization’s guiding focus. This initiative aims to inculcate civic responsibility, an environmentally conscious lifestyle, social harmony, strong family values, and systemic transformation rooted in self-awareness.
He also noted the pivotal role played by RSS Swayamsevaks in restoring democracy during the Emergency period, stating that their peaceful resistance was instrumental in upholding constitutional values. “From national security and border management to rural development and participatory governance, the RSS has extended its reach beyond Shakhas, mobilizing society to address key national issues. The Ram Janmabhoomi movement united diverse sections of Bharat for cultural liberation, and today, we see society actively contributing to systemic transformation,” he said.
Hosabale further asserted that Bharat’s ancient wisdom holds answers to contemporary global challenges such as climate change and violent conflicts. “Our nation has the potential to present a unique model of harmony and organization that the world can look up to. This enormous yet inevitable task can only be realized when every citizen of Bharat Mata recognizes their role and contributes to shaping a self-reliant and inspiring nation,” he concluded.
