Gadchiroli, Aug 23: Police in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district have booked former Bihar deputy chief minister Tejashwi Yadav for allegedly posting an objectionable comment against Prime Minister Narendra Modi on X.

The action followed a complaint lodged by Milind Narote, BJP MLA from Gadchiroli. He alleged that Yadav had made the remark ahead of the Prime Minister’s scheduled visit to Gaya, Bihar.

A senior police official confirmed that a case has been registered under sections 196 (promoting enmity between different groups), 356 (defamation), 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 353 (statements causing public mischief) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Further investigation is underway.
