Punjab is not Kejriwal’s personal property: Sirsa criticizes AAP leader over state resource usage

Chandigarh, Apr 1: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa has strongly criticized Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of treating Punjab as his “personal jagir” by allegedly misusing the state’s resources for political gains.

Sirsa’s remarks came in response to reports suggesting that Kejriwal had been extensively utilizing Punjab’s government machinery and resources for AAP’s nationwide expansion plans. The SAD leader alleged that Kejriwal was prioritizing his party’s interests over the welfare of Punjab’s people.

“Punjab is not Kejriwal’s personal property to use as he pleases. The resources of the state should be used for its development, not for expanding AAP’s political footprint across India,” Sirsa stated during a press interaction.

He also accused the AAP-led Punjab government of neglecting critical issues facing the state, including unemployment, deteriorating law and order, and the plight of farmers. According to Sirsa, the misuse of state resources for party activities was a betrayal of the trust placed in AAP by the people of Punjab.

SAD leaders have urged the state government to prioritize the needs of the people and refrain from diverting resources for political purposes. The criticism comes at a time when AAP is seeking to establish a stronger presence beyond Delhi and Punjab.

The allegations have sparked a fresh political debate, with opposition parties demanding accountability and transparency from the AAP government in Punjab.
