Father Muller Charitable Institutions to host multiple graduation ceremonies honoring excellence

Mangaluru, Apr 1: Father Muller Charitable Institutions (FMCI) is set to host multiple graduation ceremonies, celebrating the achievements of its students across various disciplines between April 3 and 5.

The 35th graduation ceremony of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital will take place on April 3 at the Father Muller Convention Centre. Dr Praveen Martis SJ, vice chancellor of St Aloysius Deemed to be University, will be the chief guest, and Dr Subhas Singh, former director of National University of Homoeopathy, Kolkata, will be the guest of honour. A total of 89 BHMS graduates and 27 MD (Hom.) postgraduates will receive their degrees, and 17 rank holders will be honoured.

On April 4, the graduation ceremony of Father Muller Medical College, College of Allied Health Sciences, and College of Physiotherapy will be held at the same venue. Dr Bhagavan B C, vice chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru, and Dr Rajeev Kumar, senior medical officer, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, New Delhi, will be the chief guests. The program will commence with a Eucharistic celebration, followed by a grand procession and the awarding of degrees. A total of 469 students will graduate, including MBBS (153), PG medical (77), allied health (135 UG, 40 PG), and physiotherapy (54 UG, 10 PG). The ceremony will also recognize 61 rank holders across various disciplines.

On April 5, the graduation ceremony of the Father Muller School & College of Nursing and Father Muller College (Speech and Hearing) will see 243 graduates receiving their degrees. The event will honour 47 graduates from the School of Nursing, 141 from the College of Nursing (including BSc, Post Basic BSc, and MSc), and 55 from the College of Speech and Hearing. Dr P L Dharma, the vice chancellor of Mangalore University, will be the chief guest.

All the graduation ceremonies will be presided over by Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, bishop of Mangalore and president of FMCI, with patrons being FMCI director Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho and FMCI designate director Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo.

These ceremonies will be a testament to FMCI’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence and its role in shaping future healthcare professionals. The graduates are set to embark on their professional journeys, carrying forward the institution’s legacy of service, compassion, and excellence.

The welcome note during the press meet was delivered by FMCI director Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, who said that the bridge between the work done and work shown is the media in all its forms. He added that the media are the ones to open the eyes of many to the good and evils of this world. Media personnel risk their lives for their livelihood and are gatekeepers of the happenings of the world.

FMCI designate director Fr Faustine Lucas Lobo and administrator of Father Muller Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital presented the graduation details of the homoeopathic college, led by its principal, Prof Dr E J S Prabhu Kiran, who presented the rank list.

Administrator of FMMC/AHS/COP Fr Ajith B Menezes read the graduation details of the colleges under him, while dean of FMMC Dr Antony Sylvan D'Souza read out the university ranks of all the colleges in the presence of principal of FMCOAH Prof Dr Hilda D'Souza and principal of FMCOP Prof Cherishma D'Silva.

Briefing of the graduation day of the college and school of nursing was done by director Fr Richard Aloysius Coelho, while the rank list was read by principal of FMSON/CON Prof Sr Dhanya Devasia and principal of FMC (Sp & Hg) Prof Cynthia Santhmayor for their respective colleges.

In attendance were administrator of FMMCH Fr George Jeevan Sequeira, medical superintendent of FMHMCH Dr Uday Kumar, vice principal of FMHMCH Dr Wilma D'Souza, medical superintendent of FMHMCH Dr Girish Navada, media coordinator of FMHMCH Dr Sherlyn, and graduation convener of FMHMCH Dr Reshal. Dr Kelvin Pais, liaison officer, compered the meet.

The vote of thanks was delivered by administrator of FMMC/AHS/COP Fr Ajith B Menezes, while the grace before the sumptuous lunch was rendered by administrator of FMMCH Fr George Jeevan Sequeira.
