Mangaluru, Apr 2: In a shocking burglary, thieves broke into a house in Permude town and stole approximately 1 kg of gold ornaments from a locker. The incident came to light on Tuesday.

The house belongs to Janwin Pinto, whose son Praveen Pinto is currently in Kuwait. With no one present in the house, the burglars managed to evade security measures, despite the premises being monitored by 16 CCTV cameras. They approached from a blind spot, altered the camera angles, and broke the iron rods of a window to gain entry.

The property is home to eight pet dogs, including Mudhol and German Shepherd breeds. The thieves skillfully avoided them and executed the heist. They accessed the locker using its key and stole a significant amount of gold ornaments and watches.

The theft was discovered when two workers, who regularly visit the house to feed the dogs, arrived in the morning and noticed the break-in. They immediately informed the owners in Kuwait.

Following the report, ACP K Srikanth, Inspector Sandeep, fingerprint experts, and the canine squad inspected the crime scene. The exact details of the stolen valuables will be confirmed once the owners arrive from Kuwait on Wednesday.
