Candolim, Apr 7: In a significant win for the local residents, the Candolim Gram Sabha has assured resolution of the Kadamba bus service issue, a long-pending concern that has caused inconvenience to daily commuters. The assurance came during the recent Gram Sabha meeting that witnessed active participation from locals, community leaders, and government officials.
The meeting addressed several key concerns, ranging from infrastructure development, water supply, sanitation, to waste management and civic amenities.

“We need to work together to improve our infrastructure and ensure that our community has access to basic amenities,” shared a concerned resident during the session.
Sarpanch Blaise Fernandes, while acknowledging the grievances regarding inadequate bus services, said, “We understand the inconvenience caused due to insufficient buses and we are committed to finding a solution. Discussions are underway with the transportation department to resolve this issue at the earliest.”
The Gram Sabha also focused heavily on improving waste management systems. Plans for a door-to-door waste collection system were unveiled, aimed at ensuring comprehensive coverage of all households. Additionally, the panchayat intends to promote recycling and composting practices, in a bid to reduce the volume of waste sent to landfills and promote environmental sustainability.
Residents and officials alike hailed the Sabha’s participatory and people-centric governance approach. “The Candolim Gram Sabha is a beacon of hope for our community. It shows that when we work together, we can achieve great things,” said a local resident.
With clear directives and collaborative efforts, the Candolim panchayat has taken commendable steps toward building a more efficient and sustainable village ecosystem, reinforcing faith in grassroots democracy.
