Panaji, Apr 13: The Goa government has taken stern action against Myron Rodrigues, the absconding prime accused in the multi-crore share market scam, by ordering the attachment of seven properties across Goa and Maharashtra, including bank accounts holding Rs 44.46 lac.

The properties seized include residential villas in Goa, Mumbai, Thane, and Pune. In Goa, the seized properties include a villa in Nuvem, an apartment in Cortalim, and a second villa in Fatorda, Margao. Two flats in Wadala, Mumbai, and two more in Kalyan, Thane, along with property in Lavasa, Pune, are also under government control. These assets will be transferred to the district administration in South Goa until further orders.

The attachment is part of a larger effort by the Economic Offenses Cell (EOC) to prevent the accused from hiding assets and to facilitate the potential return of funds to cheated investors.

Rodrigues and his wife Deepali Parab, currently in judicial custody, have been charged under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code, including criminal breach of trust and cheating.

The government’s order also freezes several bank accounts linked to the accused. Rodrigues has five accounts with a combined balance of over Rs 1.1 lac, while Parab has accounts with balances exceeding Rs 2.6 lac. Three additional accounts in Parab’s name have larger deposits, including one holding over Rs 10.9 lac.

The couple faces charges in multiple cases, including a fraud involving the theft of Rs 1.19 cr from a senior citizen, Ivon Suresh Joaquim Almeida. Meanwhile, the Crime Branch is investigating further cases involving Myron, his ex-wife, and several accomplices. Myron Rodrigues, still on the run, is facing a Blue Notice, and a Red Corner Notice is expected soon.
