Gold theft case cracked in Panaji, Karnataka youth arrested

Panaji, Apr 14: Panaji police on Sunday arrested 24-year-old Suraj Dodamani, a resident of Karnataka, in connection with a gold theft case and recovered stolen items worth Rs 3.6 lakh.

Superintendent of Police (North) Akshat Kaushal informed that a complaint was lodged by Rajesh Shirodkar from Porvorim, stating that gold items were stolen on two separate occasions from his shop at Caranzalem.

“Based on CCTV footage and visuals from the Smart City surveillance network, the Panaji police team used local intelligence to trace and arrest the accused,” Kaushal said.

During interrogation, Dodamani confessed to the theft, leading to the recovery of three stolen gold chains. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.
