Mangaluru: Man caught selling MDMA, drug worth Rs 1 lac seized

Mangaluru, Apr 17: The CCB police arrested a man who was allegedly selling the banned drug MDMA in the Lalbagh area of the city. The accused had procured the drug via courier and was involved in distributing it in the city.

Based on confirmed intelligence that the banned drug MDMA was being brought from Delhi through courier and sold to the public and students in Mangaluru, CCB police traced a two-wheeler being used to transport the drug and apprehended the individual involved.

The arrested has been identified as Mohammad Ashraf Alantadka (50), from Alantadka House, Manikkara Post, Peruvaje village, Sullia.

From his possession, police seized 11 grams of banned MDMA valued at Rs 1 lac, a mobile phone, and a Honda Activa scooter, bringing the total value of the confiscated items to Rs 1.6 lac. A case has been registered in the Barke police station in connection with this incident.

According to police, the accused had purchased MDMA through a friend in Delhi and arranged to have it delivered to his native Sullia via courier. With the intent of making illegal profits, he then transported the drug on his two-wheeler to Mangaluru, where he was allegedly selling it to the public and students.

The drug bust was carried out under the guidance of CCB ACP Manoj Kumar Naik and led by police inspector Rafeeq K M, with PSI Sudeep M V, Sharannappa Bhandari, ASI Mohan K V, Ram, and other CCB personnel playing key roles in the operation.
