Mumbai, Apr 30: Marking the fifth anniversary of Rishi Kapoor's passing, Neetu Kapoor paused to lovingly commemorate her husband, the iconic actor celebrated for his effervescent spirit and deep appreciation for life.

In a touching tribute shared on social media, she reflected on how Rishi Kapoor wholeheartedly embraced every moment with dynamism, fervor, and an infectious enthusiasm that profoundly impacted those around him. On this Wednesday, the actress took to her Instagram stories, posting a joyful photograph of Rishi Kapoor. The candid shot captured him holding a drink while taking a cheerful selfie.

"Miss you, Kapoor sahab," Neetu penned in the caption. Another image featured Rishi posing alongside Raj Bansal, while a heartwarming picture showed him surrounded by his daughter, granddaughter, and other cherished family members.

Just recently, Neetu Kapoor shared a nostalgic throwback photo from their 1979 engagement, where the ‘Jug Jugg Jeeyo’ actress was seen radiating happiness as she stood beside Rishi Kapoor. She captioned that post, "Was engaged on this day in 1979 (two hearts emoji); time flies."

For those unaware, Neetu Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor's paths first crossed in 1970 on the sets of "Zehrela Insaan," although their initial encounter was not particularly smooth. However, a fresh connection blossomed between them later, gradually evolving into a meaningful relationship. It is reported that their bond truly deepened during the filming of “Kabhie Kabhie” in 1976, ultimately blossoming into love.

The couple married on January 22, 1980, and were later blessed with two children — Riddhima Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor.

Neetu and Rishi Kapoor were among the most beloved on-screen couples of their time, captivating audiences throughout the 1970s and 1980s with a string of successful films. Their memorable performances in classics such as ‘Amar Akbar Anthony,’ ‘Khel Khel Mein,’ ‘Rafoo Chakkar,’ ‘Kabhi Kabhie,’ ‘Besharam,’ and numerous others solidified their status as an iconic duo in Hindi cinema.

Rishi Kapoor sadly passed away on April 30, 2020, at the age of 67, following a courageous two-year battle with cancer.
