Maharashtra leaders laud 'Operation Sindoor', hail armed forces’ decisive strike against terror

Mumbai, May 7: Political parties across Maharashtra, cutting across ideological lines, have come together in praise of the Indian armed forces following the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, which targeted nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in the early hours of Tuesday.

The retaliatory air strikes came in the wake of the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 innocent tourists lost their lives in a brutal act of violence linked to Pakistan-based terror outfits.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis took to social media platform X and expressed his unflinching support with a simple but patriotic message: “Jai Hind. Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”

Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde of Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar of the NCP also joined in hailing the Indian military. While Shinde offered a succinct “Jai Hind,” Ajit Pawar issued a detailed statement emphasizing that the operation was a resolute blow to terrorism.

“Operation Sindoor has demonstrated that India will no longer tolerate terrorism bred and exported from Pakistan. Our forces have destroyed nine terror camps with precision strikes. This is a message loud and clear: we will continue until terrorism is wiped out,” Pawar said, praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the coordination with Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

He described the operation as the result of “political will, military strength, and national unity.”

Echoing similar sentiments, veteran politician and former Defence Minister Sharad Pawar commended the Indian Air Force for carrying out the strikes with surgical precision.

“Every Indian has unshakable faith in our Army. These air strikes proved that faith right once again. Without harming civilians, our armed forces delivered a powerful message to the perpetrators of the Pahalgam massacre. The entire country stands proud,” Pawar stated.

Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut kept his reaction brief but patriotic: “Jai Hind.”

Meanwhile, state NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) chief Jayant Patil asserted that the operation has reaffirmed the Army’s determination to eliminate terrorism at its roots.

“Our soldiers struck deep into Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and delivered a powerful response. The country stands united behind its forces. Terrorism will not be tolerated. Jai Hind,” he said.

The cross-party unity and strong words of support from Maharashtra’s political leadership reflect the deep national sentiment in favour of the armed forces’ efforts to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty and security.
