New Delhi, May 7: Former Defence Minister and NCP (Sharad Pawar) chief Sharad Pawar on Wednesday extended congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh following the success of ‘Operation Sindoor’ a retaliatory Indian Air Force strike on terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
Taking to social media platform X, Pawar said, “Spoke with PMO and Raksha Mantri. Congratulated the efforts of the Indian Armed Forces and commended them for the action taken. We reiterated our support to the government during this challenging time.”

Praising the operation, Pawar added, “Every Indian has full faith in the Indian Army, which protects India’s sovereignty by taking bullets to its chest. The Indian Air Force has avenged the Pahalgam terror attack through precise strikes on nine terror targets at around 1:30 am, without harming any Pakistani civilians or military sites. Heartfelt congratulations to all Indian soldiers for their heroic feat! Jai Hind!”
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also lauded the armed forces, calling the operation a befitting reply. “By launching ‘Operation Sindoor’, India eliminated cowardly terrorists! Congratulations to the Indian Army and thanks to Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi ji,” he posted on X.
NCP working president and MP Praful Patel noted the symbolic significance of the operation’s name, saying, “Our sisters’ sindoor was wiped away in the Pahalgam attack. With ‘Operation Sindoor’, the Indian Army has restored their honour.”
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray praised the military action as a moment of national pride. “The army took revenge by eliminating the terrorists. Now it is necessary to destroy Pakistan’s sleeper cells within India,” he stated.
The surgical airstrike, carried out following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, has drawn bipartisan support, with leaders hailing the armed forces’ precise and restrained action.
