Mumbai, May 14: The iconic Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) in Mumbai glowed in the vibrant hues of the Indian tricolour, marking the success of Operation Sindoor. This symbolic gesture, on the evening of May 14, came as a tribute to the Indian armed forces' decisive action in response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir on April 22, which claimed the lives of 26 innocent civilians.
In an official statement, Dr Swapnil Nila, Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway, remarked, "CSMT illuminated in the colours of the tricolour to celebrate the success of Operation Sindoor. Central Railway salutes the armed forces."
The Railway Heritage Building in Mumbai also joined in this show of national pride, lighting up in the radiant colours of the Tiranga to honour the successful execution of the operation and to pay homage to the brave sacrifices of India's Armed Forces. A post from the Ministry of Railways on social media added, "The Railway's Heritage Building at Mumbai glows in Tiranga hues, a proud tribute to Operation Sindoor and a shining salute to the valour and sacrifice of our Armed Forces."
Earlier this week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the unwavering strength of India’s military in the face of terrorism, stating that any future attacks will be met with a decisive response. Speaking at the Adampur Air Force Station, the Prime Minister said, "Every moment of Operation Sindoor stands as a testament to the strength of our armed forces."
The operation, launched by India on May 7, followed the brutal attack in Pahalgam, where terrorists had targeted innocent civilians. As part of the operation, India executed precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), effectively neutralizing several threats and repelling Pakistan's subsequent military aggression.
PM Modi reaffirmed India’s commitment to safeguarding its sovereignty and security. "Operation Sindoor is a trinity of India's policy, intent, and decisive capability," the Prime Minister said. He further emphasized that while India seeks peace, it remains resolute in its ability to defend itself and punish those who threaten its security.
"Raising an eye against India will lead to nothing but destruction," he declared, reminding the nation of its readiness to confront any challenges that come its way.
