Ravi Shankar Prasad says Operation Sindoor only paused, urges global unity against terrorism

Paris, May 27: Leading an all-party Indian delegation in France, BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad reiterated on Tuesday that Operation Sindoor, India’s precision military response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, is “only paused” — not concluded. Addressing the press, he underlined that India has never been the aggressor in recent conflicts, but will decisively defend its sovereignty.

“In nearly four overt wars and countless terrorist strikes, India has never initiated aggression. We have only ever responded,” Prasad said. “This time, we struck terrorist camps and air force installations with lethal precision. Once Pakistan sought a cessation of hostilities, we paused—but they must now curb cross-border terrorism, since their military establishment continues to back these groups.”

During their Paris visit, the delegation met with French think-tanks, leading journalists, and members of the Indian diaspora, sharing vivid accounts of the Pahalgam atrocity that claimed 26 lives. “They heard, with great pain, how barbarically innocent civilians were massacred—and how India answered with Operation Sindoor,” Prasad noted.

In the coming days, the group will hold discussions with prominent French parliamentarians in both the National Assembly and Senate, as well as members of the India Caucus, to deliver a unified message: terrorism is humanity’s enemy and demands a collective, zero-tolerance response.

“Our narrative is clear: the entire world must speak with one voice against terrorism,” Prasad affirmed. “Numerous UN-designated terror outfits operate from Pakistan. India’s precision strike was a last resort, but we will distinguish no difference between terrorists and their sponsors.”

The Paris delegation, part of a broader outreach tour that includes the UK, Germany, the EU, Italy, and Denmark, consists of MPs Daggubati Purandeswari, Priyanka Chaturvedi, Ghulam Ali Khatana, Amar Singh, Samik Bhattacharya, M.J. Akbar, and Pankaj Saran. Their mission: to brief international partners on India’s Operation Sindoor—launched May 7 and credited with disabling infrastructure of Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen, and eliminating over 100 terrorists.

By highlighting Pakistan’s continued sponsorship of cross-border terror, these multi-party delegations reinforce India’s unwavering stance: no compromise, no tolerance.
