Patna, May 30: During his two-day visit to Bihar on Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that Operation Sindoor is far from over, asserting that every act of terror will face a powerful retaliation. Referring to the recent terror attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam, which claimed 26 lives, including 25 tourists and a local, the Prime Minister promised that India would respond with unrelenting force.
“From the land of Bihar, I had vowed to bring down terror hideouts and their masterminds. That promise has been fulfilled with a punishment beyond imagination,” PM Modi said, hailing Operation Sindoor as a symbol of India's military strength and valour.

He paid homage to BSF Sub-Inspector Imtiaz, a braveheart from Bihar who was martyred on May 10, and lauded the armed forces for destroying Pakistani airbases and terror hubs within minutes. “What the enemy witnessed in Operation Sindoor is only one arrow from our quiver,” he warned.
Reiterating the government’s tough stance on internal threats, PM Modi highlighted the significant reduction of Maoist-affected districts from 125 to just 18 since 2014. “Earlier governments ignored these areas. There were no schools, no hospitals, no roads. Today, change is reaching those villages,” he said.
In a veiled attack on RJD and Congress, he accused former regimes of failing Bihar in the name of social justice. “These are the same people under whose rule the poor had to flee Bihar. Now they preach social justice to safeguard their survival,” Modi said, claiming that the NDA government ensured 100 per cent coverage for essential services including toilets, homes, and bank accounts for Dalits and backward classes.
He also inaugurated the new terminal at Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport in Patna, fulfilling a longstanding demand of the people. Built at a cost of Rs 1,400 crore, the terminal increases the airport’s capacity to one crore passengers annually.
Additionally, he laid the foundation stone for the Bihta Airport, spread across 116 acres, and announced the establishment of the Makhana Board and the National Institute for Food Processing, aimed at supporting local farmers and enhancing agro-industry growth.
This marks PM Modi’s first visit to Bihar since Operation Sindoor and his fifth in 2024, underscoring the state’s crucial role ahead of the general elections.
