'PoK wouldn't exist if Nehru wasn't PM': BJP hits back at Telangana CM over Rahul Gandhi remark

Daijiworld Media Network – New Delhi

New Delhi, May 30: Union Minister Jitendra Singh on Friday dismissed as ‘hilarious’ Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s claim that Rahul Gandhi would have taken back Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) if he were Prime Minister.

Singh countered the statement by saying that PoK would not even exist had Jawaharlal Nehru, Rahul Gandhi’s great-grandfather, not been India’s first Prime Minister. “First the nation was divided, then Jammu and Kashmir. And when the Indian Army was on the verge of reclaiming PoK, Nehru announced a unilateral ceasefire on Akashvani without consulting anyone,” Singh alleged.

The sharp exchange came after Reddy, speaking at Congress' 'Jai Hind Yatra' in Hyderabad’s Nizampet, attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and called him an "expired rupee". He said the country needs Rahul Gandhi's leadership, comparing him to Indira Gandhi.

"Had Rahul Gandhi been Prime Minister, he would have followed Indira Gandhi's path and taken PoK back, splitting Pakistan like in 1971," Reddy said, while asserting Rahul would also stand up to China and restore India’s self-respect.
