Gurugram, May 30: A man allegedly threatened to shoot a female colleague and fired multiple rounds in the air in Sector 44, Gurugram, before being arrested hours later, police said.

The accused, Satyavrat alias Satya Pandit, a native of Gopalganj in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur district, was found in possession of a country-made pistol, two cartridges, and a motorcycle, which were all impounded by the police.

According to the complaint filed by Laxmi Verma alias Mehak, a north Delhi resident currently living in Sector 44, she had been working with the accused in a private management company for the past month. The incident occurred around 10:15 pm on Wednesday near Kanhai Colony while she and her friend Anu Rajput were on their way to HUDA Market in Sector 53.

Satyavrat allegedly stopped his bike in front of Laxmi and threatened to shoot her before firing four to five rounds into the air. She immediately alerted the police, and an emergency response vehicle reached the spot. The accused fled upon seeing the police.

An FIR was registered at Sushant Lok police station, and Satyavrat was arrested near a CNG pump in the Sushant Lok area on Thursday. He was produced before the court and remanded to four days’ police custody for questioning, said a Gurugram police spokesperson.
