Sharjah, June 2: The glittering 55th edition of the Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show concluded on a grand note at Expo Centre Sharjah on Sunday, recording a footfall of over 87,000 visitors — marking a 9% increase from its previous edition. The five-day event, held under the patronage of Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, firmly reestablished itself as a prestigious gathering for luxury connoisseurs and trade professionals alike.
With the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the event welcomed more than 500 local and international exhibitors from across the globe, including first-time participants from Russia, Mexico, Tanzania and Egypt. The exhibition floor buzzed with elite jewellers, watchmakers, and 1,800 renowned designers and manufacturers, occupying a sprawling 30,000 square metres.

One of the most talked-about highlights was the debut of the world’s longest diamond necklace — an astounding 108-metre masterpiece encrusted with over 600 lab-grown diamonds set in 18-karat rose gold. Adding to the dazzle was the Union Frame, certified by Guinness World Records as the world’s largest gold frame, and the dramatic unveiling of ‘Gold-Zilla’ — a gold-plated car valued at AED 3.67 million by Al Romaizan Gold and Jewellery.
The Italian pavilion drew strong interest with a 15% rise in participation. Around 50 exclusive brands displayed handcrafted, limited-edition diamond creations that drew luxury collectors and enthusiasts in large numbers.
Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, expressed pride over the show’s success, noting that the massive turnout and international participation reflected strong industry confidence. “This show has become a global platform for innovation and excellence in the gold and jewellery sector. We remain committed to nurturing partnerships and fostering creativity,” he stated.
The show also spotlighted local talent, featuring 20 young Emirati women designers who impressed visitors with jewellery collections rooted in Emirati traditions like Al-Talli. Their standout pieces — such as the Zayed’s Lantern, Palm Necklace, and Emirati Dama’a — artfully blended cultural heritage with modern design.
Sales soared throughout the exhibition, boosted by competitive pricing and special discounts on premium jewellery and luxury watches. The excitement continues as organisers prepare to announce the winners of the event’s headline prizes, including a Tesla Model 3 and exquisite gold and diamond sets.
With each edition outshining the last, the Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show continues to shine as one of the region’s most influential luxury events.
