Latehar, Jun 14: The death of a 24-year-old woman, Juhi Devi, who was initially believed to have accidentally fallen from a running train, has now been confirmed as a case of murder, police said.

Her body was recovered near Tori-Chetar station in Latehar district on Thursday. While her husband Mahadev Singh had initially reported the incident as an accident at Dhurki police station in Garwah district, police grew suspicious during the investigation.

During interrogation, Mahadev confessed to pushing his wife off the train due to a family dispute, confirmed Randhir Singh, officer-in-charge of Chandwa police station.

Mahadev has been arrested and was remanded to judicial custody by a court on Friday.
