New Delhi, Jun 24: JBL, the American audio heavyweight, has once again stirred the waters of the mid-range TWS (truly wireless stereo) market with the launch of the JBL Tune Beam 2 — the latest in its Tune Series 2 lineup. Priced at Rs 5,499, this new offering attempts to strike the right chord by combining punchy audio, effective Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), and deep personalisation tools — all packed in a rather unassuming design.
Released in April 2025, this TWS set builds on its predecessor with meaningful upgrades, while also aligning with JBL’s new strategy of delivering feature-rich, customisable audio solutions amid stiff competition from both audio brands and smartphone ecosystems.

• Earbud size: 33.4 x 22.6 x 25 mm
• Case size: 61.5 x 29.15 x 47 mm
• Weight: 5.2g per earbud, 42g with case
• IP rating: IP54 (earbuds only)
• Colours available: Black, Blue, White
The Blue variant we reviewed offers a calm pastel tone that’s easy on the eyes. The case is classic JBL — vertical, oval, and slightly bulky. Though the matte finish feels premium, the top lid did creak slightly, which may be a letdown for those expecting tighter craftsmanship. A trio of LED indicators graces the front, with a USB-C port on the bottom for charging.
Inside, stem-style earbuds rest with soft silicone tips that provided a snug, secure fit even during intense workouts. At 5.2g each, they are lightweight enough for extended listening sessions, although the slightly slippery build made them a bit tricky to pull out at times.
Gesture-based touch controls (customisable via the JBL app) allow for toggling ANC, ambient awareness, playback, and calls. While responsive, they sometimes required multiple taps to register correctly.
• Driver size: 10mm
• App support: JBL Headphones App (iOS & Android)
• ANC: Yes
• Personi-Fi 3.0: Yes (Personalised sound profile)
Performance is where the JBL Tune Beam 2 earns its praise. Equipped with 10mm drivers, the sound is crisp and bass-forward — classic JBL tuning. Mids are well-balanced, and highs don’t screech, which makes them suitable across genres. Spatial audio support enhances the experience, especially for immersive content like movies and gaming.
One of the standout features is Personi-Fi 3.0, which tailors the sound output based on individual hearing perception. This makes a noticeable difference, particularly for users with nuanced audio preferences or mild hearing irregularities.
ANC works efficiently, eliminating low-frequency ambient sounds during commute or at the gym. While not flagship-level, it outperforms many peers in the sub-Rs 6,000 category. Ambient Awareness mode is useful for quick interactions without pulling out the earbuds.
The JBL Headphones app offers EQ settings, ANC tweaks, battery info, and more — a significant value addition that gives JBL an edge over some rival TWS earbuds that still skip advanced software customisation.
The JBL Tune Beam 2 brings together rich sound, dependable ANC, and a host of customisable features in a package that appeals to both casual listeners and semi-audiophiles. While the design remains conservative and the touch controls slightly finicky, the audio quality and app support shine through.
In a fiercely contested price bracket, the JBL Tune Beam 2 makes a strong case for itself — a worthy companion for those who demand performance without burning a hole in their pockets.

• Effective ANC with ambient mode
• Comfortable fit with IP54 protection
