Bengaluru Jul 18: In a major security scare that sent shockwaves across Karnataka's capital, over 40 private schools in Bengaluru received bomb threat emails on Friday morning. The anonymous emails, targeting educational institutions in areas like Rajarajeshwari Nagar and Kengeri, triggered immediate police action.
As the news spread, panic gripped parents, teachers, and students. Bengaluru police swiftly responded, deploying bomb disposal squads and sniffer dogs to each of the schools. After thorough checks, police confirmed the threats were a hoax, stating no explosive devices were found at any location.

A similar wave of bomb threats was reported in Delhi, where over 20 schools, including Richmond Global School in Paschim Vihar and Heritage School in Rohini, received identical emails. Authorities in the national capital also responded with urgency, cordoning off school premises and conducting exhaustive searches.
The recent threats follow a worrying trend. Earlier this week, at least 10 schools and one college in Delhi had to be evacuated after similar emails were received, though all turned out to be false alarms.
Karnataka police have launched a detailed cyber investigation into the origin of the threats. Officials have urged citizens not to panic and assured that stringent measures are being taken to track down the miscreants responsible for spreading fear among the public.
Authorities have also issued advisories to schools across the state to remain vigilant and report any suspicious communication or activities immediately.
