Noida, Jul 18: In a shocking act of violence, a man was brutally assaulted and had his nose cut off after he scolded his neighbour’s pet dog for barking in Noida's Nat Ki Madaiya village.

The incident, which took place on July 8, came to light after an FIR was registered on Tuesday. The victim, identified as Devendra, was allegedly attacked by his neighbour Satish, along with Satish’s brother Amit and son Tushar, after he shouted at the dog.

"Devendra scolded the pet dog, and after that, Satish, Amit, and Tushar came out and began beating Devendra and his wife Munni Devi," said Sukhbir Singh, the victim’s father, in his police complaint. The assailants reportedly used a sharp object to cut Devendra’s nose before fleeing the scene.

Devendra is currently admitted to a hospital in Aligarh, where he received stitches for the injury, police confirmed.

Vinod Kumar, in-charge of Beta 2 Police Station, said on Thursday that an FIR has been registered under Sections 333, 115(2), 352, and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Two of the accused have been arrested, while a search is on for the third.
