Mangaluru, Aug 2: The department of hospital administration, in collaboration with the medical education unit, Yenepoya Medical College, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), proudly hosted a national-level faculty development programme (FDP) titled ‘Expert-Ease’ on the July 30 and 31.
This two-day programme marked the foundation phase of a two-phase initiative aimed at empowering educators across disciplines. The advanced phase is scheduled to be conducted in October 2025.






The programme was inaugurated by distinguished dignitaries including Dr K S Gangadhara Somayaji, registrar, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University); Dr M S Moosabba, principal, Yenepoya Medical College; Vijaya Parameshwari, principal, AJ Institute of Hospital Management; Dr Prakash Saldanha, vice principal, Yenepoya Medical College; Dr Sunita Saldanha, dean, Yenepoya Faculty of Allied and Healthcare Professions; and Dr Rashmi Jain, professor of ophthalmology and coordinator, Medical Education Unit, Yenepoya Medical College.
Designed to enhance the pedagogical and academic leadership capacities of faculty, the FDP brought together 48 participants from diverse disciplines including medical specialties, allied health sciences, hospital administration, management, ayurveda, and homeopathy. Participants hailed from across India, representing regions such as Goa, Telangana, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and various districts of Karnataka including Mangaluru, Udupi, Belagavi, Moodbidri, Koppa, Gadag and Ghataprabha.
The sessions addressed core areas such as delivered through a blend of theoretical discussions and hands-on activities.
All sessions were facilitated by nationally and internationally renowned FAIMER Fellows, whose expertise greatly enriched the learning experience. From Yenepoya Medical College, the resource persons included Dr Aswini Dutt R, Dr Meera Jacob, Dr Divya C, Dr Vidya Hegde and Dr Rashmi Jain. From Kasturba Medical College, Dr Gagan Bajaj and Dr Animesh Jain contributed valuable insights. Additional sessions were led by Dr Padmini Thalanjeri (AJ Institute of Medical Sciences), Dr Shailaja S (Father Muller Medical College), and Fr Anil Ivan Fernandes (Canara Communication Centre).
This initiative reflects the institution’s ongoing commitment to quality education, interdisciplinary collaboration, and faculty empowerment.
