Kuwait: Colours & Creations 2012 – A Treat to the Eyes

Media Release

Kuwait, Feb 6:  An unprecedented response and an extremely high level of competition ensured that 'Colours and Creations' conducted by SACAA Kuwait on  Friday February 3 was a resounding success.

SACAA Kuwait organized Drawing and Colouring competition for various categories of children and the elders too had their share of competitive fun with the Fruit and Vegetable Carving competition.

It was wonderful to see Aloysian alumni and the participants in such large numbers ready at the venue much ahead of time.  2.00 pm onwards, the Indian Community School auditorium at Salmiya Kuwait was packed with enthusiastic children who were looking forward to the drawing and painting competition.  The elders too ensured that there was enough participation for the Fruit and Vegetable Carving contest.

The evening began with an address and prayer by the president of SACAA Kuwait, Vinutha D’Mello Miranda.

Following this the much anticipated competitions got underway.  The executive committee and volunteers ensured that the contestants were ready in their respective categories. The tiny tots in the 3-6 years age group had colouring competition. The 7 - 10 years group Drawing and Colouring and the 11 - 15 years group had theme based Drawing and Painting contests.  It was fantastic to see all the participants taking so much of interest and ensure that they did their best. There were over 65 entries for the children’s categories. The judges had a very difficult time in deciding the ultimate winners in each category.

The fruit and vegetable Carving competition was for both genders and it was wonderful to see all the participants create fabulous designs out of fruits and vegetables. The judges and audience alike were definitely enthralled by the ideas, presentation that that came to the fore.

The event was judged by four eminent judges who have had a high level of creativity and artistry themselves. The fact that they had to really spend quality time to decide the eventual winners gives ample evidence to the high quality of the competitions.

The results of the competitions were as follows:
