Mumbai (RBI), Sep 3: The World Ganiga Chavadi Mangaluru organised the distribution of ‘Genada Tudar’ and a free medical camp on Sunday, August 31, at Sumangala Sabhagraha, Bantwal.
Presiding over the valedictory programme, president of Mumbai Sapalya Seva Sangha, Srinivas Sapalya, said that education must instil values that make life meaningful and cultivate moral foundations within a religious framework. This, he added, could serve as the basis for the upliftment of future society. “When our hearts are moved by the sight of people in distress, our parents say that our birth has been made meaningful. If we identify such people and extend help, God himself acknowledges that his creation has become worthwhile,” he said.

Srinivas Sapalya, who for years has been helping underprivileged students both in Mumbai and his native place through the Srinivas Foundation, extended educational support to about 40 students on the occasion. He lauded the social initiatives of World Ganiga Chavadi Mangaluru as commendable and worthy of appreciation. He also suggested that through the organisation’s ‘Anna Bhagya’ scheme, basic food supplies for two meals a day could be provided to needy families once in three or six months. He assured full support for the initiative through his foundation.
On the dais were Mumbai Sapalya Sangha secretary Bhaskar Sapalig, joint secretary Kiran Kumar Sapalig, treasurer Hemant Sapalig, Ratika Sapalig, Sumangala Credit Co-operative Society president Nagesh Kaladka and vice president Sachin Melkar, Bantwal Ganiga Sangha vice president Bhavanesh Sapalig and secretary Balakrishna Serkala, World Ganiga Chavadi Mangaluru president Hari Prasad Shaktinagar, retired police officer Mohan Sapalig, Sundar Mendan and Ganesh Kallur.
Ganesh Kallur proposed the vote of thanks, acknowledging the support of Chiravi Optical Pane Mangaluru, Indian Red Cross, Lady Goschen Government Hospital, and Father Muller Hospital teams for conducting blood donation, free eye check-ups, cancer screening, and other medical tests. He also thanked the dignitaries and donors, particularly Srinivas Sapalya, for supporting students’ education.
Student Panchami Nal, who is studying artificial intelligence, presented a pencil sketch portrait of Srinivas Sapalya to him. Student Deekshith shared details of Sapalya’s social service initiatives and honours received.
