Udupi, Sep 9: Brahmashree Narayana Guru Dharma Paripala (BSNDP) Udupi district celebrated Udupi district-level Brahmashree Narayana Guru Jayanthi – 2025, at Manipur Brahmashree Narayana Guru Dharma Paripalana Sangha Auditorium on September 7.
The event was organised in association with Udupi District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, Department of Kannada and Culture and Manipur Brahmashree Narayana Guru Dharma Paripalana Sangha.












Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty, speaking after inaugurating the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp, said, “We too must follow the ideals of Brahmashree Narayana Guru, a true builder of an equal society, who showed the path of a meaningful life through the practice of noble principles and values. Guru was a propagator of education, a reformer who sought change through organization. He tore down the barriers of caste, religion, and sect. Emerging as the voice of the backward, the oppressed, and the marginalized, he infused power and self-respect into people’s lives. A noble soul who shaped his personality through spiritual achievement, his ideals remain eternally memorable.”
Offering floral tributes to the portrait of Brahmashree Narayana Guru and presiding over the programme, Deputy Commissioner Swaroopa T K said, “Guru Jayanthi has created a festive atmosphere. Brahmashree Narayana Guru, a divine human being, proclaimed the principle of ‘One Caste, One Religion, One God’. We must adopt the values of his life.”
Former MLA Lalaji R Mendon, Udupi Urban Development Authority president Dinakar Heruru and Udupi District Guarantee Schemes Implementation Committee president Ashok Kumar Kodavoor also spoke.
District Yuvavahini president and cultural thinker Dayananda Karkera Uggelabettu delivered a lecture and highlighted the contribution of Sri Naryanaguru.
Prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions conducted by the Education Department. On this occasion Vidhushi Deeksha V, achiever of the Golden Book of World Records for 216 hours of Bharatanatyam performance, was felicitated by BSNDP Udupi district.
A bike Rally was held from Moodubelle to Manipura Brahmashree Narayana Guru Dharma Paripalana Sangha Auditorium by Youth Billava Moodubelle Committee.
Assistant director of Department of Kannada and Culture Udupi district Poornima welcomed the gathering. Chandrashekar Salyan delivered the vote of thanks. Research scholar Mahesh Malpe compered the event.
