Udupi: Inter-Collegiate Staff Basket-Ball Championship Held

Udupi, Feb 13: In the inter-collegiate staff basket-ball championship, Manipal University bagged the trophy and emerged as champions of the tournament. Manipal University staff basket ball team has emerged as champions of Manipal University inter-collegiate/institutions staff basket ball tournament by defeating the Manipal Institute of Technology team in the finals held at KMC Basket Ball Court with the margin of 11points.

The Captain of University Team Mr, Teddy Andrews in his tremendous play ended up with 15 points to his pocket out of 23 points scored by University team and has maintained the lead throughout four quarters and owned the final frame of 23 -12. The MITians struggled to break the strong defense of University team.

Earlier in the semi-final Manipal University team beat Kasturba Medical College team and qualified for finals. In the previous year also Manipal University emerged as champions in this Dr H S Ballal, pro-chancellor, Dr Ramnarayan, vice chancellor and Dr G K Prabhu, registrar of the University have congratulated the winning team.
