Mangaluru, Nov 1: The Carmel School Auditorium was filled with joy and patriotic fervour on November 1, as the students of grade 3 celebrated Kannada Rajyotsava Day with devotion, creativity, and cultural brilliance. The programme graciously wove together prayer, values, and tradition truly reflecting the pride and spirit of Karnataka.
The celebration began with a prayer service, invoking God’s blessings on the state and its people. Scripture readings from the Bible, Bhagavad Gita, and Quran carried a message of unity and faith reminding all that God protects His children from every danger and distress when trust in him remains strong. The prayers of the faithful that followed uplifted every heart, seeking peace, health, and prosperity for all.

A thought-provoking skit titled “Soujanya” was then presented by the students, conveying a touching message on kindness and respect. It depicted two humble individuals who experience indifference from one person but later encounter another who treats them with warmth and understanding.
The transformation in attitude revealed how gentle behaviour and genuine respect can bring comfort and hope into someone’s life. The moral to treat every person with dignity and compassion was beautifully brought out through their simple yet expressive performance.
The programme continued with a vibrant dance presentation showcasing the people, leaders, and traditional dance forms of Karnataka, including Kolata, folk dance, and the lively Tiger Dance. The rhythmic beats, colourful attire, and radiant smiles captured the rich cultural spirit of the state.
Another beautiful dance followed, highlighting the beauty and richness of the Kannada language, which binds hearts and preserves the identity of Karnataka’s proud heritage.
Sr Rosevera, the principal, then addressed the gathering with an inspiring message. She began by asking the students what values they had learnt from the skit, and the children promptly responded with love, patience, humility, and impartiality. In her message, Sister beautifully reminded the students to hold on to three golden principles: 1. Love for the state and in student life cherish the rich heritage of Karnataka, learn and speak the Kannada language, and show respect and kindness to everyone in their school environment. 2. Service to the state and in student life perform even the simplest duties with devotion and joy, be it helping a friend, maintaining cleanliness, or participating in activities that promote the common good. 3. Responsibility towards the state and in student life make thoughtful choices, stand by what is right, and always ask, “What good can I do for my State and my people?”
She concluded by stating that Rajyotsava Day is not merely a celebration but a reminder to live out the values of love, service, and responsibility in one’s daily life as proud students and responsible citizens of Karnataka.
The programme was compered by Paavni and Monish. The welcome address was delivered by Thanmayi and Hrishikesh, while Paavni, Sonal, and Monish proposed the vote of thanks.
The programme drew to a close with the rendition of the Nadageethe, filling the Auditorium with gratitude for the land of beauty, courage, and culture.
