Mumbai, Nov 6: The birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the revered founder and first Guru of Sikhism, was celebrated with great devotion and splendour at the Four Bungalows Gurudwara in Andheri West, Mumbai. Organised by the Gurudwara management and the local sangat, the grand Prakash Gurpurab celebrations witnessed the participation of over one lakh devotees who gathered to offer prayers, seek blessings, and engage in selfless service (seva).
Under the guidance of president Jaspal Singh Suri and Maninder Singh Suri, the Gurudwara was adorned with beautiful decorations, reflecting the festive spirit. Devotees from across Mumbai and neighbouring cities thronged the premises to commemorate the sacred occasion with faith and reverence.

Adding to the spiritual fervour, several renowned personalities from the film and television fraternity visited the Gurudwara to seek blessings. Among those present were actress Hansika Motwani, TV stars Prince Narula and Yuvika Chaudhary, designer Rohit Verma, Yashvardhan Ahuja, action master Mohan Baggad, Kabir Bedi, Soundarya Sharma, and actress-anchor Ekta Jain. The air was filled with soulful kirtans and the fragrance of devotion and unity.
The historic Four Bungalows Gurudwara Sahib was established on April 13, 1967, by Sardar Singh Suri Ji, who served as its founder and president for 45 years. His son, Jaspal Singh Suri, has led the Gurudwara for over a decade, while his grandson, Maninder Singh Suri, now continues the family’s legacy of spiritual service and community welfare.
Every year, over a lakh devotees visit the Gurudwara on Guru Nanak Jayanti. It remains the only Gurudwara in Mumbai that serves langar twice daily, feeding nearly 2,000 people daily and more than 5,000 on Sundays. This year, around 70,000 devotees partook in the langar on the auspicious occasion.
Extending beyond religious activities, the Gurudwara has been actively involved in social initiatives under the leadership of Maninder Singh Suri. The management has adopted three flood-affected villages in Punjab, offering aid to farmers through seeds, diesel, and community marriage assistance.
The celebrations beautifully reflected Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s timeless teachings of unity, humility, equality, and selfless service, bringing together devotees in a powerful display of faith and compassion.
