Veteran grocery merchant B G Shenai of Shirva passes away at 73

Udupi, Nov 15: B G Govinda Shenai (73), a well-known daily provisions merchant and resident of the Shirva main road area, passed away at his residence on November 14. He is survived by his wife and one son.

For over four decades, Shenai was actively involved in the grocery business at BND Shenai & Co, popularly known across Shirva town as the 'Bhelle Shop'. His long-standing service earned him immense goodwill in the community.

Shenai had also contributed to religious and social institutions. He served as a member of the administration committee of the Shirva Mahalasa Narayani Temple and held office in the Shirva Gouda Saraswat Brahmin Association.

His demise has left the local business community and residents in deep sorrow.
