Udupi, Nov 25: With prime minister Narendra Modi scheduled to visit Udupi on November 28, the temple town has come under an extensive security blanket. Preparations have intensified over the past two days as various security agencies, including the Special Protection Group (SPG), have taken charge of the venue and surrounding areas.
An SPG team arrived in Udupi yesterday and immediately began a series of detailed inspections. The team visited the programme venue, examined access routes, and reviewed crowd-management arrangements. Early this morning, the SPG officials continued their site verification, assessing every corner of the premises to ensure that all security protocols are in place. Officials have also inspected emergency exits, movement points, and barricading arrangements to avoid any last-minute lapses.

Following the physical inspection, a high-level meeting is being held on Tuesday between the SPG, district administration, and senior police officials. During this meeting, the final blueprint of the prime minister’s schedule, including his arrival timing, route plan, stage arrangements, and security layers, is expected to be finalized.
Meanwhile, security across Udupi city has been significantly increased. With preparations in full swing, Udupi is gearing up to host the prime minister under a multi-layered security system, ensuring that the event proceeds smoothly and safely.
