Amravati, Dec 15: A major mishap was averted after a four-wheeler caught fire near Ramtirth Phata in Daryapur taluka of Amravati district on Sunday evening. The incident occurred around 7 pm, triggering panic in the area as the vehicle was completely gutted within minutes.
According to preliminary information, the fire is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit. Noticing smoke emerging from the vehicle, the driver acted swiftly and managed to get out in time, thereby escaping unhurt.

Sources said the car belonged to Kapshi village in Akola district. The driver was reportedly on his way to visit relatives in Jainpur village of Daryapur when the incident took place. As the vehicle reached near Ramtirth Phata, smoke suddenly started billowing out, and within moments, the fire intensified, engulfing the car.
On receiving information, a fire tender from the Daryapur municipal council rushed to the spot and managed to bring the blaze under control after considerable effort. However, by then, the vehicle had been completely reduced to ashes.
Though no casualties were reported in the incident, the fire caused significant damage to the vehicle. The sudden blaze led to brief chaos and fear among people in the vicinity. Police and local authorities are investigating the exact cause of the fire.
