Panaji, Jan 10: Goa marked another milestone in its international tourism outreach with the arrival of charter flight ENT 1443 from Katowice, Poland, which landed at Manohar International Airport (Mopa) at 9.30 am on Friday.

The flight, carrying 189 passengers, marked the first charter arrival from Katowice for the current tourist season and the second charter flight from Poland to Goa this year. The passengers were accorded a warm and traditional Goan welcome, underscoring the state’s continued focus on hospitality and visitor experience.

Tourism Minister Rohan A Khaunte said the arrival reflects Goa’s growing appeal in the international tourism market. “The first charter flight from Katowice is a positive development for Goa’s tourism sector. Poland remains an important source market for us, and such charter operations help diversify markets while promoting quality tourism. We are committed to improving connectivity, ensuring seamless travel experiences and positioning Goa as a responsible, year-round global destination,” he said.

Director of Tourism Kedar Naik said charter flights play a crucial role in sustaining international tourist inflow and supporting local stakeholders. “The growing interest from Polish travellers highlights Goa’s appeal beyond its beaches, including culture, wellness, hinterland experiences and nature-based tourism. The department will continue working closely with airlines and tour operators to strengthen international connectivity,” he said.

Officials said the continued charter operations from Poland reflect Goa’s rising popularity among European travellers. The increasing footfall from Polish tourists highlights the state’s diverse tourism offerings, ranging from its coastline and cuisine to wellness tourism, culture and nature-based experiences.

The Department of Tourism said it remains engaged with international tour operators, airlines and other stakeholders to further expand charter connectivity and reinforce Goa’s position as a preferred global destination throughout the year.
