Ahmedabad, Jan 11: The Adani Group has announced a massive investment of Rs 1.5 lac crore in Gujarat’s Kachchh region over the next five years, signaling its long-term commitment to the state, said Adani Ports and SEZ Limited Managing Director Karan Adani on Sunday.

Speaking at an event in Rajkot, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Karan Adani described Gujarat not just as a destination for investment, but as the foundation of the group’s journey. “Our chairman, Gautam Adani, has always believed that the growth of our group must be inseparable from the growth of the nation,” he stated.

Karan Adani highlighted that the investment aligns with India’s vision of combining economic growth with climate responsibility and energy security. He also announced plans to double port capacity at Mundra over the next decade, emphasizing Gujarat’s business-friendly environment.

“Faster decision-making, strong institutions, and respect for enterprise create a growth-friendly ecosystem. This model, perfected in Gujarat, has now been extended nationwide under Prime Minister Modi through cooperative and competitive federalism,” he added.

The announcement came during the inauguration of a trade show ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Rajkot, aimed at showcasing investment opportunities and reinforcing Gujarat’s role in India’s economic growth story.

Karan Adani concluded by reaffirming the group’s deep-rooted commitment: “Gujarat is where our journey began, and it is where our long-term commitment remains anchored.”
