Panaji, Jan 11: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday unveiled a revamped leadership team for its Goa unit, appointing Valmiki Naik as the new state president in a significant organisational overhaul approved by the party’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC).
As part of the restructuring, Gerson Gomes has been appointed state working president, while Prashant Naik will take charge as state organisation secretary. Sandesh Teleikar Dessai has been named state senior vice president.

The leadership reshuffle follows a period of internal churn within the Goa unit, marked by the exit of four senior leaders. Among them was former state president Amit Patkar, who was removed from the post last month in the aftermath of the party’s poor performance in the Zilla Panchayat elections. Former working president Shrikrishna Parab also stepped down, prompting the party to recalibrate its leadership structure.
According to party sources, the new appointments are intended to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level and position AAP more effectively for upcoming political contests in the state. The PAC said it was confident that the newly appointed leadership would bring unity, renewed energy, and sharper organisational focus to the party’s cadre across Goa.
