Christopher Plummer Wins Best Supporting Actor


Los Angeles, Feb 27 (IANS): At 82, Christopher Plummer is said to be the oldest person to have won an Oscar as he took home the golden statuette for his performance in a supporting role in "Beginners" here.

He beat Kenneth Branagh ("My Week with Marilyn), Jonah Hill ("Moneyball"), Nick Nolte ("Warrior") and Max von Sydow ("Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close) for the trophy at the Kodak Theatre.

The movie, a romantic comedy-drama written and directed by Mike Mills, also won a BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) award for his supporting performance this year.
