Udupi: Christ School Manipal celebrates Republic Day with patriotic spirit

Udupi, Jan 26: The Republic Day celebration was held with great pride and patriotic spirit at Christ School, Manipal

The programme began with an inspiring introduction highlighting the importance of the Indian Constitution and the values of democracy, unity and freedom. This was followed by the melodious rendition of “Vande Mataram,” which filled the atmosphere with patriotic fervour.

A warm welcome address was then delivered, in which Alwyn Saldanha, vice president, PPC, the correspondent Fr Romeo Lewis, the principal Eliza Vaz, teaching and non-teaching staff, and all the students were respectfully welcomed.

 

The highlight of the programme was the unfurling of the National Flag as the tricolour was hoisted by the correspondent Fr Romeo Lewis, the gathering stood in attention for the National Anthem, followed by the singing of the “Zanda Geet,” expressing deep love and respect for the nation.

This was followed by the message from the correspondent, Fr Romeo Lewis, who emphasised the importance of Republic Day and motivated the students to be responsible, disciplined, and patriotic citizens who uphold the values of the Constitution.

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Tanish, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the correspondent, PPC vice president, principal, teachers, non-teaching staff, and students for their cooperation and support.

The celebration came to an end with the closing remark. The entire programme was efficiently and gracefully compered by master of ceremonies Disha K Prabhu. Sweets were distributed to all the students and staff, spreading joy and marking the conclusion of the celebration on a happy and festive note.
