Panaji, Jan 26: Mapusa police have arrested four men from Karnataka in connection with the alleged assault on Sudip Tamankar, a leader of the All Goa Bus Owners’ Association. The arrests were made on Sunday following an investigation aided by CCTV footage.
According to police, Tamankar contacted authorities on Saturday, claiming he had been illegally restrained and attacked by unknown individuals at the New KTC Bus Stand in Mapusa. Acting on the complaint, police rushed to the location and reviewed surveillance footage from the area.

Based on the visuals, investigators identified and detained four suspects. The accused have been named as Mounesh (22), Narayan Bagali (28), Suresh Kabber (25) and Basavaraj Pujar (34), all natives of Karnataka, Deputy Superintendent of Police Nilesh Rane said.
An offence has been registered at the Mapusa police station, and further investigation is underway. The probe is being led by Police Sub-Inspector Aditya Gad, who is examining the circumstances surrounding the incident and the motive behind the alleged assault.
