Kozhikode, Jan 30: V Srinivasan, husband of Rajya Sabha MP and Indian Olympics Association president Dr PT Usha, passed away at the age of 64. He collapsed at the family home in Thikkodi Perumalpuram early Thursday morning around 1 am. and was rushed to a nearby private hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Dr PT Usha, who is in Delhi attending a parliamentary session, had returned home after the event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Dr Usha and conveyed his condolences over the bereavement.
V Srinivasan, son of Narayanan and Sarojini of Vengali Tharavadu, Kuttikkad, Ponnani, was a retired DYSP in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The couple’s son is Dr Ujjwal Vignesh. Funeral arrangements are yet to be announced.
