St Theresa’s School hosts T–Mart Market Day for young learners

Media Release

Mangaluru, Feb 3: St Theresa’s School, Bendur, Mangaluru, successfully hosted its much-awaited T–Mart (Theresian Mart)—a vibrant Market Day for students of grades I and II—on Tuesday, February 3, from 8.30 am to 10.30 am in the school auditorium.

The event was thoughtfully designed as a hands-on learning experience to introduce young learners to the basic concepts of buying and selling, money handling, and decision-making. The school auditorium was transformed into a lively marketplace with colourful stalls set up by the students. A wide variety of items such as fruits, vegetables, stationery, craft items, and fancy articles were displayed, all reasonably priced up to Rs 50.

The young Theresians confidently took on the role of sellers, while their peers actively participated as responsible buyers, using coins and currency notes. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and enthusiasm as children negotiated, counted money, and made thoughtful purchasing choices.

The Market Day successfully blended fun with learning, helping students develop essential life skills such as communication, numeracy, teamwork, and financial awareness. Teachers guided the children throughout the activity, ensuring meaningful participation and active engagement.

The event was well appreciated by parents and visitors, who witnessed the school’s commitment to practical and experiential learning. The management and staff of St Theresa’s School congratulated the young participants for their confidence, creativity, and discipline.

The T–Mart truly lived up to its tagline: “Buy • Sell • Learn • Smile – Little Hands, Big Learning.”
