Kuwait, Feb 5: Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior has launched a new electronic service that allows expatriates to update their passport details digitally through the government’s unified Sahel application, eliminating the need for visits to service centres.
The service has been rolled out by the General Department of Information Systems in coordination with the General Department of Residence Affairs. It enables residents to update passport-related information online, ensuring that official records remain accurate without the need for physical paperwork or prior appointments.

According to the ministry, the initiative aims to simplify procedures for expatriates while easing congestion at service centres. Through the Sahel platform, residents can now complete passport data updates quickly and conveniently.
Officials said the move is part of Kuwait’s broader push towards digital governance and administrative reform. By expanding online services, the ministry seeks to improve operational efficiency and provide a smoother, more accessible experience for residents using government platforms.
