New Delhi, Feb 6: Smartphone brand Infinix has announced the launch of XOS 16, its latest operating system based on Android 16, focusing on simplifying everyday phone usage through a refreshed interface, deeper personalisation options, AI-powered productivity tools and enhanced gaming features.
According to the company, XOS 16 reduces visual clutter on the screen and cuts down the number of steps needed to perform common tasks, offering a smoother and more intuitive user experience.

A major highlight of the update is expanded personalisation. Users can customise layouts, wallpapers and themes across both the lock screen and home screen. XOS 16 also allows the creation of custom themes and wallpapers using AI-based tools that support multiple formats. A new Depth Effect visually connects the lock screen and home screen, while additional design elements such as illustrated patterns, animated visuals and AI-generated portraits offer greater control over the phone’s appearance.
The update introduces several AI-driven tools aimed at improving productivity for work, study and daily organisation. Mind Hub, an AI-powered feature, automatically collects and organises content displayed on the screen, including notes, reminders, dates, phone numbers and addresses, without requiring manual sorting. One-Tap FlashMemo enables users to convert notes into calendar events instantly, while AskFolax allows ideas to be saved with a single tap. AI Writing assists in editing messages, and AI Suggestions analyses usage patterns to recommend apps based on the user’s routine.
Gaming users will also benefit from multiple upgrades in XOS 16. Frame interpolation technology improves motion flow in supported games, while features such as Magic Voice Changer and Voice Command enable players to alter voices or use voice controls during gameplay, enhancing in-game interaction.
At the system level, XOS 16 introduces a Transfer for iPhone feature that uses NFC to share photos with Apple devices without an internet connection. Another notable addition is bypass charging, which allows the phone to draw power directly from the charger during use, helping reduce heat generation during activities like gaming or streaming.
Infinix confirmed that XOS 16 will come pre-installed on all upcoming smartphones from the brand. The company also plans to roll out the update to select existing models, though details regarding the supported devices and rollout timeline are yet to be announced.
