Chennai, Nov 5: National Award-winning actor Keerthy Suresh has opened up about her 15-year relationship with businessman Antony Thattil, revealing that her mother, veteran actor Menaka, discovered their romance after reading her personal diary when she was in college.
In a recent conversation with Curly Tales, Keerthy said she began dating Antony shortly after completing Class 12, when she was 17. Antony is seven years older than her. She recalled that her diary contained details about their relationship and that her mother confronted her after reading it.
Keerthy said the incident made her stop writing diaries altogether, although she had enjoyed the habit. She now wishes she could find the diary again but suspects that her mother may have burned it.

The actor said keeping their relationship private for nearly 15 years was not particularly difficult. The couple rarely travelled alone and usually went on holidays with groups of friends. Even when they shared photographs, people did not realise that Antony was her boyfriend.
However, Antony became nervous after their wedding was announced, frequently wondering whether paparazzi were following them. Keerthy also revealed that he runs a business importing window furnishings.
The couple first met through mutual friends in December 2009 and began dating in January 2010. Keerthy said their relationship faced challenges at home because Antony is Christian, and it took time to convince her family to accept the marriage. She added that one of the most special aspects of their relationship was that Antony knew her even before she entered the film industry, and that they had grown up together.
After dating for 15 years, the couple married on December 12, 2024, in an intimate ceremony in Goa, following Tamil Brahmin and Malayali Christian traditions.
Recalling their wedding in a 2025 interview with Galatta India, Keerthy described it as an intensely emotional occasion. She said the couple had even experienced nightmares about eloping, making the eventual family wedding all the more meaningful.
Keerthy was most recently seen in director Dharmaraj Shetty's Netflix series Akka, alongside Radhika Apte.
