Dubai: SMKC to Present 'Wilfy Nite' on April 27

Dubai, Mar 1: 'The Legacy Continues....' the first 'Wilfy Nite' in Dubai ever since the sad demise of Konkan Kogul Wilfy Rebimbus is ready to be staged during the decennial celebrations of SMKC Dubai, at Al Nasr Leisure Land on Friday April 27 at 5.30 pm. The event will be staged under the prestigious banner of SMKC Dubai - 'Grand Konkan Showers 2012 - Wilfy Nite'.

After a gap of 5 years, the UAE Konkani music lovers will be regaled again with Wilfy's foot-tapping as well as popular sentimental numbers from his gigantic collection of over 3000 golden songs. Wilfy's troupe comprising 12 members will be flown in from Mangalore. They include 'Konkan Myna' Meena Rebimbus, Veena Rebimbus Pais, Vishwas Rebimbus, Prem Lobo, 'Konkan KalaShree' Claud D'Souza and Babita Pinto. Pappan and Joswin Pinto, the popular music director duo who have been associated with Wilfy since long, will also accompany the singers along with Peethambaran.

Ace comedian Adolphus Cutinha known as Dolla Mangalore accompanied by Melwyn Dalmeida will present rib-tickling stand-up comedy during the evening. Ocean Kids under the leadership of Vinod Sequeira will enthrall the crowd with with exotic dances which will complement the songs sung by the troupe. The whole show will be compered by the 'compere beyond compare' Leslie Rego.

The songs will comprise Wilfy's old golden hits along with some new songs composed by his children Veena and Vishwas. As the title says 'The Legacy continues....'

After the Legend's death this is the first Wilfy Nite in the UAE. The organizers have promised that this would be a special treat to Konkani music lovers. Relive the golden melodies of late Wilfy Rebimbus on the evening of April 27 from 5.30 to 10.30 pm along with SMKC Dubai in celebration of their 10th anniversary
