Washington, Feb 25: US President Donald Trump struck a triumphant tone during his annual State of the Union address, declaring that America has entered a “golden age” under his leadership and asserting that the nation has staged a dramatic turnaround within a year.
Addressing members of Congress and the American public from the White House, Trump said he had inherited a “dead” nation but transformed it into what he described as “the hottest country anywhere in the world.”

“Members of Congress and my fellow Americans, our nation is back—bigger, better, richer, and stronger than ever before,” he said, adding, “One year ago we were a dead country; now we are the hottest country anywhere in the world.”
Touching on key economic issues such as inflation, gas prices and employment, the President declared, “The state of our union is strong.”
Highlighting investment inflows, Trump claimed that while the previous administration secured less than $1 trillion in new investments over four years, his government had attracted commitments worth over $18 trillion within just 12 months.
“In four long years, the last administration got less than $1 trillion in new investment in the United States. In 12 months, I secured commitments for more than $18 trillion pouring in from all over the globe,” he stated.
Trump said his administration is focused on building an America where every child has the opportunity to succeed, where the government answers to the people, and where the interests of hardworking citizens remain the top priority.
“That is the debt we owe to the heroes who came before us—and that is the promise we must keep to America for our 250th year,” he added.
The President also targeted Democrats, accusing them of opposing his economic agenda. He said he had urged Congress to pass what he described as the largest tax cuts in American history, which were supported by Republican majorities.
“All Democrats—every single one of them—voted against these. They wanted large-scale tax increases, but we held strong,” Trump asserted.
