Mangaluru: MSNIM organises EDIFY 2026 management & cultural fest

Media Release

Mangaluru, Mar 7: The 25th edition of ‘Edify’, the annual inter-collegiate cultural and management fest of Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM), unfolded over two vibrant days on March 2 and 3 at its Bondel campus, drawing 580 students from 28 undergraduate colleges across the region.

Centred on the theme ‘Avatar’, the state-level fest blended strategic competition with creative expression, culminating in Canara Degree College, Mangaluru, lifting the overall championship trophy, while Besant Women’s College, Mangaluru, finished runners-up.

Inaugural day: A silver jubilee milestone

The fest opened on Monday, March 2, with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, marking Edify’s silver jubilee year. Guests of honour Ajith Kamath, correspondent, and K V Raghava Kamath, co-correspondent of MSNIM, conveyed their best wishes, encouraging participants to engage in healthy competition and learning.

The competitions echoed the ‘Avatar’ theme in both concept and execution. Management events such as Money Matrix (Finance), Humatrix (HR), Brand Storm (Marketing), Pandora Syndicate (Best Management Team), Head Honcho (Best Manager), and Bizverse (Business Quiz) tested analytical and strategic skills. Cultural contests — from Ava Vox (singing) and Rhythm Syndicate (dance) to Cosmica (fashion show), Street Smash (gully cricket), and Scavenger Hunt — infused the campus with colour and performance energy.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between MSNIM and the Indian Institute of Skill Development and Research (IISDR), Mangaluru. The MoU was signed by Dr Molly S Chaudhuri, director of MSNIM, and Arundathi Hegde, deputy director of IISDR, in the presence of Dr Steevan Pinto, convener and programme chair of IISDR Leadership Connect 2026. The collaboration marks a step towards strengthened academic and skill-development initiatives.

Faculty coordinators Sathvika Shetty and Sanath Bhandarkar, along with student coordinators Manish Kottary, Prajna, Vaishnavi, and Suraj, steered the event, while Assistant Professor Nanditha Sunil welcomed the gathering and compered the inaugural proceedings.

Valedictory: Innovation, AI and the road ahead

The valedictory ceremony on Tuesday brought the competitive fervour to a celebratory close. Digital creator Kiran Shenoy attended as chief guest, joined by Yatheesha K S, CEO of Yaticorp India Pvt Ltd, as guest of honour. The programme was presided over by Manel Annappa Nayak, president of the Women’s National Education Society (WNES), with K V Raghava Kamath and director Dr Molly S Chaudhuri on the dais.

Addressing the gathering, Kiran Shenoy urged students to explore the expanding world of content creation amid rapid technological change. “Failure today can become the foundation of tomorrow’s success,” he observed, encouraging students to remain adaptive and experimental in their pursuits.

Yatheesha K S spoke on innovation and leadership in a data-driven era, underlining the importance of adaptability and the ethical use of artificial intelligence. He called on students to cultivate entrepreneurial thinking and resilient mindsets to thrive in a dynamic global business landscape.

In his presidential address, Manel Annappa Nayak reiterated the institution’s commitment to holistic education. “Our institution is not driven by financial motives; we strive to manage and nurture this college with the resources available to us,” he said, urging students to use artificial intelligence constructively.

During the ceremony, Yaticorp conferred a Certificate of Institutional Excellence on MSNIM, recognising it as an AI-Enabled Campus — a distinction that echoed the closing day’s emphasis on technology and innovation.

Sathvika Shetty presented the event report. A lucky draw and prize distribution added to the celebratory atmosphere. Jenisha D’Souza delivered the vote of thanks. Sneha Kamath was compered the programme. The two-day fest concluded amid applause and anticipation for the next edition of Edify.
