Mangaluru: Blood donation camp held at St Agnes College (Autonomous)

Mangaluru, Mar 25: The Youth Red Cross (YRC), the NSS and the NCC units of St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru in association with Father Muller Medical College organised a blood donation camp on March 24 at A4, Avila Block from 9 am to 1 pm.

The programme was graced by the presence of vice principal Sr Dr Roopa Rodrigues, who addressed the gathering and appreciated the initiative, emphasising the importance of social responsibility among students.

The chief guest Dr Charu Khosla, assistant professor in the Department of Immuno-hematology and Blood Centre (IHBT) at Father Muller Charitable Hospital having over 14 years of experience in this field, is a member of the Indian Medical Association and the Indian Red Cross Society shared valuable insights on voluntary blood donation and guided the participants throughout the process.

A total of 64 units of blood were collected during the camp. Proper medical procedures and safety measures were strictly followed throughout the programme.

The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, which was successfully coordinated by the YRC, NSS and NCC Officers to create awareness about the importance of blood donation and to encourage students and staff to contribute to this noble cause.

The camp was efficiently compared by Serena Saldanha, secretary, Youth Red Cross and concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all donors, organisers, and supporting staff for their contribution towards this meaningful cause.
